The International Forum for Peace was born in the aftermath of the second Intifada under the impulse of two men: Anis El Qaq, Palestinian, and Ofer Brochtein, Franco-Israeli, united around a common desire to refuse the fatality of the situation and take concrete and immediate measures to try to resolve this.

Ofer Bronchtein has always been an ardent militant for peace. He started out as a special correspondant in Tunisia under Itzhak Rabin, for the preparation and the follow up of the Oslo accords. His passion in this fight has not died down, since he began directing and then presiding the International Center for Peace and the International Institute of the Histadruth.

Anis el Qaq, born in Jerusalem, was the coordinator of Palestinian NGOs before becoming the Secretary of State at the International Cooperation, in charge of the relations between the Palestinian Authority and International Organisations. Initiator of the Israeli/Palestinian Parliamentary Forum with Ofer Brochtein, he is today the Ambassador of the Palestinian Authority in Bern.
